I know a copper voice coil is the standard coil used when reconing most subwoofers . It’s light , a great conductor , good thermal rating , and lower FS than an aluminum coil. My question is when doing a heads up comparison to the two , with the aluminum coil’s capability of having a high FS affect its ability to perform in a low end response application ?
Also knowing aluminum coils are used in SPL applications , will having an aluminum coil have a major affect on a subwoofers ability to perform in a musical application?
Hope someone reads this and responds lol. Well got some bad news folks: My Buick is officially gone
Engine went bad and it was more of a hassle to put up the money to fix it and it was getting too old for traveling back & forth to my job which is quite a ways away. So the system is gone for the most part. Still have my sub, box, and amp but I'm getting rid of sub and box and going for something else.
Oh yeah! I now have a new ride which is the 2014 Nissan Altima and I love it! Only thing is that with me getting older (bones starts to crack), I still wanna bump but need the trunk space. So basically was wondering if I should go for 2 8s or just 1 10 in the future? I'm slowly starting to lean towards the SQ side of audio and I want something that's quite the SQL setup that's like 55% SQ and 45% SPL. Additionally, I wanna retain trunk space because this Car is quite the gas saver so I might be doing a lot more traveling in it so I gotta pack now. I have an idea of what I want as far as brands but was wondering the pros and cons of each setup. What do you guys think?
